Privacy Policy

  • SITES COVERED BY THIS POLICY. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”), applies to all websites and domains owned by Midwest Technical Institute, Inc. (“MTI”), except that a privacy policy posted on an MTI website specific to that website will apply instead of this Policy.
  • STATEMENT OF PURPOSE. MTI understands the importance of protecting its customers’ personal information. This Policy explains how MTI uses and secures the information it collects from its websites. This Policy may change over time and will be effective when posted. Your continued use of any MTI websites following the posting of any amendment, modification, or change shall constitute your acceptance thereof.
  • COLLECTION OF INFORMATION. You may be asked to voluntarily provide your name, address, phone number, email address or other personally identifiable information to have access to some feature of an MTI website. You may always refuse to provide such personal identifiable information, and this may lead to MTI’s inability to provide you with certain offerings, services or products. MTI or its affiliates may collect information that is anonymous, such as your IP address (a number used to identify your computer on the Internet) or the type of browser you are using, through the use of cookies or by other means.
  • USE OF INFORMATION. MTI does not sell or rent any personal data you have provided to it to any third parties. MTI respects the privacy of the users visiting its sites. MTI may certain directory information that it has collected to send you information about its products and services, or updates and other information that it thinks may be of interest to you; and it may share this information with its educational subsidiaries to bring similar information to your attention. Other than directory information, data you provide to MTI as you use its websites will be held in confidence by it and will be used for internal purposes only. MTI may share aggregate information about its users with advertisers, business partners, sponsors and other third parties. However, the individual information you provide MTI within the MTI websites will be known only to you and MTI. MTI will not share your personal data with anyone else, except as may be required by law.
  • COOKIES. Cookies refer to data created by a web server that is stored on a user’s computer. It provides a way for the website to keep track of a user’s patterns and preferences and, with the cooperation of the web browser, to store them on the user’s own hard disk. The cookies contain a range of URLs (web addresses) for which they are valid. When the browser encounters those URLs again, it sends those specific cookies to the web server.   • LINKS. MTI websites may contain links to other sites on the Internet that are owned and operated by third-parties. If you access those links, you will leave the MTI website. MTI does not control those third-party sites or their privacy policies, which may differ from MTI’s privacy practices. MTI does not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. The personal data you choose to provide to or that is collected by those third parties is not covered by the MTI Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website before submitting your personal information. MTI may also provide social media features on their websites that enable you to share information with your networks and to interact with us on various social media sites. Your use of these features may result in the collection or sharing of information about you, depending on the feature. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and settings on the social media sites with which you interact to make sure you understand the information that could be shared by those sites.
  • PRIVACY OF CHILDREN. MTI encourages parents and guardians to be aware of and participate in their children’s online activities. We strictly adhere to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and will not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal information from any child under the age of 13 in any manner that violates this law.
  • PHISHING SCAMS. It is a policy of MTI to not send unsolicited emails seeking certain highly sensitive personal information, such as social security number, date of birth or credit card number. In the event you receive such an email, and you have not previously been in direct contact with its sender, please do not respond and do not open any attachments as they may contain malicious code that will infect your computer.
  • SECURITY. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, MTI has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards to secure the information it collects online. MTI websites maintain industry standard security measures to protect the loss, misuses and alteration of the information under its control. MTI encourages its visitors to frequently review the Policy. By using an MTI website and providing MTI with your personally identifiable information, you consent to MTI’s use of such information as described in this Policy.
