The Devon Mikuleza Memorial Scholarship for Skilled Trades

The Devon Mikuleza Memorial Scholarship

Last updated: November 2024

Devon Mikuleza planned to attend Midwest Technical Institute and study HVAC/R, just as his father John and brother Dalton both did, before he tragically passed away on June 1st, 2020. Devon enjoyed fishing, welding, working on small engines, helping his neighbors, and camping, among many other things in life. He is the late son of business owners John and Lisa Mikuleza.

In honor of his memory, The Devon Mikuleza Memorial Scholarship was created for high school seniors who want to learn a skill at a trade school, as Devon had intended. The scholarship is a minimum of $500.

“MTI helped me better understand the job I was going into. The Devon Mikuleza Scholarship will help others get their foot in the door. This scholarship honors Devon by keeping his name alive and helping others do something he loved,” Dalton Loyd, brother of Devon and graduate of MTI’s HVAC/R Technician Program.

Here’s how to apply:

  • Write a 1-2 page essay explaining why you want to pursue a career path in the skilled trades
  • Fill out the application form and attach the Word Doc of your essay

There is no deadline to apply for the Devon Mikuleza Memorial Scholarship. Winners will be selected annually and presented the award at the Annual Devon Mikuleza Memorial Trivia Night in November.
