March of 2009 marked a milestone for Midwest Technical Institute as we opened the doors to our East Peoria campus. MTI East Peoria offered eight vocational programs at its inception: Welding, HVAC/R Technician (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration), Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Coding Specialist, Basic Nursing Assistant and Massage Therapy.
The campus boasts a 50,000 square foot facility suited to the needs of each program. The welding program is 3,000 square feet, set up for stick, MIG and TIG welding. Our HVAC/R lab contains a sheet metal fabrication area, climate control area and a prefabricated home to assist with giving hands-on real life experience in HVAC/R system installation, repair, and maintenance. Our allied health programs (Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting and Basic Nursing Assistant) also provide spacious on-site labs to give our students an opportunity to receive real hands-on work force training.
MTI is a year-round vocational school providing training for careers where job growth is expected. The high standards utilized in our programs ensure that students who are serious about learning a trade in a hands-on environment and finding a career path will have a legitimate chance to reach their goal. Here at MTI, we’re building futures, one person at a time.
