MTI to offers assistance to displaced Mitsubishi employees


Normal, IL – Midwest Technical Institute is offering all displaced Mitsubishi employees an opportunity to further their education. In an effort to assist workers displaced in the closure of the Normal, Ill. Mitsubishi facility, Rapid Response Workshops are being put together with participation from Career Link, IDES and the Department of Insurance.

Midwest Technical Institute will be present outside of these Rapid Response workshops, with representatives from our Springfield, Illinois and our East Peoria, Illinois campuses attending. The workshops are taking place on Monday, October 26th from 10am-7pm and on Tuesday, October 27th from 10am with an end time not specified.

MTI admissions representatives are available to field phone calls and other inquiries from displaced Mitsubishi employees interested in continuing their education as a member of the MTI family. To reach an admissions representative to learn more, call (800) 894-7471.

The facility will cease all operations in November, according to several area media outlets, a decision that was made after an internal review of Mitsubishi Motor Company’s global supply chain.

Midwest Technical Institute 2015-2016 mrWF/MTI Scholarship Program

Seven students at each of MTI’s campus locations will receive a 100 percent tuition-paid scholarship for any of MTI’s workforce training courses and programs. To be eligible for the program, students submit a short essay and video detailing why they should be awarded one of this year’s scholarships. Once submitted, the videos are hosted on the MTI website for a period of public voting where the top seven videos with the most votes are selected as winners.

The mikeroweWORKS Foundation and Midwest Technical Institute are now accepting submissions for the 2015-2016 mrWF/MTI Scholarship!

The scholarship is open to all graduating high school seniors for the 2015-2016 academic year and awards seven 100 percent tuition-paid scholarships at each of MTI’s five campus locations throughout the Midwest and Mississippi Delta regions.

$1000 High School Senior Scholarship


The MTI $1,000 Senior Scholarship Program was established during the 2013-2014 academic year to assist graduating high school seniors in securing the hands-on, workforce training necessary to succeed in today’s competitive job market. This year’s program is once again open to graduating seniors during the 2015-2016 academic year. Students must complete all application materials, including a FAFSA application, no later than July 1, 2016 to be eligible for the $1,000 scholarship.
