The Program
The Pharmacy Technician works under the influence of a licensed pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of meds, maintaining records, setting up, packaging and labeling routine orders from stock supplies and mixing drugs with parental fluids. A Pharmacy Technician may also monitor inventory and file insurance claims.
This program will prepare the graduate to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. More and more employers are preferring formally educated Pharmacy Technicians as their responsibilities increase. An Externship will allow students to experience both inpatient pharmacy situations and community pharmacy situations.
