Since Midwest Technical Institute (MTI) opened, we have strived to stay current with the demands of professionals in the field. MTI emphasizes keeping its facilities up to date very seriously. We are regularly updating equipment, classrooms, and labs to keep up with the ever changing technology in the workplace. Our campuses house classrooms, workshops, training labs, and computer labs that are regularly updated with equipment and software to keep us state of the art in the education of our students.

In 1995 while working as a welders, MTI founders Brian Huff and Mike Casper noticed something in the workers around them, a need for better welding training. There were opportunities for training, but none that were located locally. In an effort to solve that problem, Mr. Huff and Mr. Casper decided to begin training welders themselves.

East Peoria, IL History


March of 2009 marked another milestone for Midwest Technical Institute as we opened the doors to one of our first campuses outside of the original campus in Springfield, Illinois. Headed originally by campus president, Beth Anderson, MTI East Peoria offered eight vocational programs at its inception: Welding, HVAC/R-MAR(Heating,Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Major Appliance Repair), Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Coding Specialist, Basic Nursing Assistant and Massage Therapy.

Quad Cities-Moline, IL


In an effort to expand its presence in Illinois, Midwest Technical Institute saw itself once again branching out and opening the doors to a new facility in the Quad Cities. Our Moline campus opened its doors in May of 2011, welcoming 24 students in to the Journeyman Welding I and II program.

Springfield, MO History


In Summer 2012 Midwest Technical Institute added its first campus in Missouri. On October 1st Midwest Technical Institute Springfield, Missouri opened its doors for the first time. The facility is approximately 39,000 square feet, with nearly 6,000 square feet devoted to our mechanical trades programs and the same to our Allied Health and Cosmetology programs.

Horn Lake, MS History


Delta Technical College Horn Lake, MS is an ever growing branch campus of Midwest Technical Institute. On August 18, 2004, DTC opened its doors in South Haven, MS with its first class for Medical Assisting and on the 27th of September the Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Major Appliance Repair (HVAC/R-MAR) program was added.

In January 2012, the Midwest Technical Institute/Delta Technical College family grew once again when it expanded, adding a campus in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
